Teesside Branch

Postby Chris950s » Fri Oct 23, 2015 9:51 am

Dennis Boyd has stepped up to the task of starting a new Teesside branch, which has support within the committee and local members. Watch this space for more details of meetings and activities.

I would like to wish Dennis all the very best in his endeavours and would ask you all to give him your support.

no worries it was a tongue in cheek comment. Perhaps we can have some joint events in the new year.

Oh no I can't forward private emails! Phil was quite insistent though that he would defect as soon as possible! Only joking he is very supportive of you.

The day for the new branch meetings has not been set yet. I have asked Dennis not to clash with established branches so that members can go to both and not have to choose between one or the other. As soon as I have any more news I will post it on here.

I have just received an email from Dennis, the Teesside branch will meet at the Middlesbrough & District Motor Club, Coulby Manor, Coulby Newham, Middlesbrough, TS8 0RP on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 7:00PM. Dennis' contact details are on the branches map and will soon be in Gambalunga and on the branches page of the main website.

Good luck to you all.

I met up with Dennis and Dave on Tuesday and had a general natter about Guzzis, other bikes and the world in general. It's a good venue in its own grounds and hosts other motoring events throughout the year.
Next meeting will be on 26th of January, hope some of you locals can make it.
Regards,
John

We had the second meeting last night and the attendance has doubled from the first one! Six of us in all. Just general bike chat in the main but also a few seeds sown to get a run out when the weather picks up and maybe meet up with other branches for a bite somewhere. Early days but an encouraging start. :)

John

Meetings are still ongoing with a highest count of six so far and always at least three of us so we get a bit of banter going.
Dennis and I did the run to Brimham Rocks and met up with some of the Cumbria members after enjoying a great ride through some beautiful countryside at a leisurely gait with hardly any traffic to worry about. Very refreshing!
Dave has bought my Breva 750 and we'll be persuading him to get joined up too.(I never really gelled with the Breva and after wanting one for so long was a bit underwhelmed but don't really know why?) Up until the inaugural meeting he was riding a Suzuki 750 4 of some kind which he was very happy with but once he saw and heard a few Guzzis together he was hooked! Turned up at July meeting on it and it looked lovely, polished up like new pin.
Hope to see more of you around,

Regards,

John

I'm glad to hear that the new branch is going from strength to strength. What I found in Essex was the lure of cake brought the members in in droves! Best wishes
