Any of you chums got a clutch centering tool I could borrow? It's for me Loop, but probly the same as any of the big twins well into the Tonti era. Even better if you're at the dinner this coming Saturday and could bring it along.

I have a spare splined clutch centre that I have used in the past, it is a bit more fiddly to do than with the pukka tool but it has worked for me in the past. If you want to have a go I'll bring it to the Christmas knees up :D

If you don't get a loan of one, it's not difficult to do without the tool.
I used some long bolts and nuts to slowly compress the springs and just nudged the plates into the grooves as I wound the springs down.

Yeah - I've always managed before. Got the thing measured up as central as I can and with a couple of nuts just holding on the clutch I've been able to put the gear box up and nudge it into alignment. This time I've still got the motor in the frame and I think access is going to be more of a problem.

Chris - Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm on a promise from Perky; I've even seen pics of Evie brandishing it in a menacing fashion. If you have the Loop wiring diag Saturday night I'll be pleased to swap beer vouchers for it.

Thanks Buzz, though as noted I am already on a promise. I must be the only member on this forum who doesn't have one.
