A quick post-tour update from the Guzzi Birds.

Guzzi Birds on a break in ScotlandOnce again we'd like to say a great big fat thank you to everyone who got involved (put us up for a night, fed us or otherwise helped and encouraged us) for their support and assistance. We'd also like to thank everyone who gave for their donations to the charity.

We're doing really well with the task of raising money for the boys. We'll continue taking donations until the end of the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the NEC.

I have just returned from the V-Twin Rally in Fordingbridge, which was a great success both for the club and also for our charity event. I haven't finished counting coppers, but it looks like we made approx. £500.-

I have managed to put the first few photos into the 2006 events gallery since the trip, so do have a look. There are plenty more yet to come, just keep looking now and then.

You can read the first part of the mini-log on the Mid Tour Update page this is part two of the Guzzi Birds do GB saga:

After the ferry trip we got a bit wet on our way to Sheep Island hostel. On arrival there we decided to postpone the viewing of the Giants Causeway to the next morning and made ourselves comfortable for the rest of the day. The next day we were rewarded with much better weather and visited the famous site as planned before setting off again through the beautiful Northern Irish countryside. At first we had a little trouble finding the hostel in Sligo, but got assistance from a very friendly local who led us the last bit, when we stopped outside a convent.

We encountered an extremely rude employee at the hostel in Sligo, which somewhat spoiled our mood that evening. So our recommendation is NOT to stay there. We also found a place to eat where fish and chips is served with chips, roast and boiled potatos (yes you do get all three). The drizzle that had started when we arrived turned into sunshine the next morning as soon as we had left Sligo, this change seemed to perfectly reflected our mood.

More to follow soon (it's time I went to bed.)

Enjoy yourselves and stay safe.
